IMHope’s mission is to create opportunities for older adults to engage in a meaningful way with their community. We support long-term care homes, retirement homes, families, and other communities as they realize potential, value and assets that every member can contribute, independent of age. IMHope uses music in the context of intergenerational interactions to accomplish these outcomes.

With expertise in neuroscience of music, community research, and recreation therapy, we approach our work from an evidence-based framework and are actively contributing to the research literature through our own studies.

Why IMHope?

Benefits for residents and communities
  1. Innovative Content and Programming

Due to our expertise and experience, we are uniquely positioned to design and deliver innovative programs.

  2. Inclusive and Collaborative Practices

We create musical moments and experiences with our participants. We are not entertainers, we are engagers.

  3. Volunteer Engagement

We encourage community volunteers to play an active role in our work. This way, meaningful connections can persist beyond the scope of our programs.

Volunteer with us!

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, IMHope is continuously looking for students and community members to participate in our programs.
