What People Say

Testimonials

have always loved music and children, so from the start I was very excited because these visits [combined both] of my favourite things. I knew these kids would be so great and so lively and so kind when I first met them so there wasn’t much that I did not expect. I guess I expected they might be a little over-excited and loud, but they have been so polite, even through their excitement. I guess what else is a little unexpected is just how very close I have [grown] to them all, especially Savannah

Our day program was fortunate to be a part of the Fountains of Uke in the spring of 2018! Our seniors, some of whom play the ukulele in our own group, loved the musical interactions and conversations with the children and the Mac students. They looked forward to the visits each week and made some amazing connections with the kids. I loved being able to stand back and watch the conversations taking place between the generations! This program is a true gift to our seniors.

IMHope bridges the gap between generational differences by creating opportunities for youth and seniors to interact in a meaningful way. I especially love IMHope because it promotes program related to music, something that is universally and timelessly enjoyed. With these opportunities, IMHope has allowed me to do something I love while collaborating with seniors and youth alike

The highlight of my visit was when I met Alexander. I was able to speak to him about his childhood learning the violin, about the instruments he had in his attic, and his family and how his granddaughter had taken an interest in music. When he took my violin into his hands to play, I sincerely hope that it could help him remember all the happy memories from his youth.

I learned that they really like hugging and holding our hands. And they are always so happy and smile so big when they see us!
